Where to Get Carrot Seeds
In the demo, buy Carrot Seeds from Hazel's Seed Shop for 10 Dew each, receive four through The First Sprout, or receive two from the Daily Goodies Chest. To plant them, approach an empty Garden Bed on your island, hold R on keyboard, select Carrot Seeds from the tool wheel, and plant in open soil.
Start With Hazel's Farming Lesson

Follow Hazel's The First Sprout lesson on your island. She gives you a Garden Bed, while you craft the Watering Can at your Project Station. The lesson starts with lettuce before giving you Carrot Seeds for Carrot Soup, so continue the farming lesson if you have only received lettuce so far.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Hazel's tutorial seeds grow faster than regular crops. Keep that distinction in mind when you begin buying seeds for later plantings. A quick tutorial harvest does not mean your next batch will finish just as quickly.
Plant Carrot Seeds With the Tool Wheel
- Approach an empty Garden Bed on your island. Its open soil is where you will plant the Carrot Seeds you bought or received.

Hold R on your keyboard to open the tool wheel. This lets you choose seeds as well as your usual tools.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Choose a wheel position and select Carrot Seeds. The seeds will be in your character's hand, ready to plant.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
- Plant the equipped Carrot Seeds in the bed's open soil. You now have planted crops to water and grow.

Equip the Watering Can through the same tool wheel. Once items are assigned to your quick slots, tapping R cycles between them.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Harvest the carrots when they finish growing. Your harvest gives you carrots to use for cooking or to send through the shipping bin.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Crop Growth and Watering Times
Use these growth times and watering intervals as a reference when planning your next planting. Keep checking the water indicator above each crop, because different crops have different watering needs. Thirsty crops stop growing, so a planted bed still needs attention until the harvest is ready.
| Crop | Growth and Watering |
|---|---|
| Lettuce | Growth: 10 minutes. Watering interval: 5 minutes. |
| Carrot | Growth: 10 minutes. Watering interval: 10 minutes. |
| Tomato | Growth: 15 minutes. Watering interval: 5 minutes. |
| Potato | Growth: 20 minutes. Watering interval: 10 minutes. |
| Cotton | Growth: 10 minutes. Watering interval: 10 minutes. |
When Seeds Will Not Plant or Crops Stop Growing

Seeds are in your inventory but not in your hand: hold R, choose a wheel position and select Carrot Seeds. Then try planting in the Garden Bed's empty soil.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

A crop has stopped growing: check its water indicator. If it is thirsty, water it with the Watering Can so growth can continue.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Keep Seeds Ready for Your Next Planting
Return to Hazel's Seed Shop in Loftia City when you need another batch. In the demo, her shop shows what a crop sells for before you buy its seeds. Compare that displayed return with the seed cost, and leave yourself enough Dew for the planting you want to do next.

Before shipping your whole harvest, check what your current quest needs. Hazel's carrot lesson leads into cooking Carrot Soup and sending it through the shipping bin. Keeping the carrots needed for that task avoids having to grow replacements before you can continue.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Seed Makers, Beta Timers and Later Farming
- Do I need a Seed Maker to grow more carrots?
- No. Buy more Carrot Seeds from Hazel or plant seeds received as rewards, then repeat the planting, watering and harvesting routine. Keep your next batch ready to equip through the tool wheel after harvesting; this route does not require turning harvested carrots back into seeds.
- Why do older carrot guides recommend watering halfway through?
- Closed-beta carrot routines recommended watering again around the 5-minute mark. The carrot timing above is 10 minutes to grow with a 10-minute watering interval. Follow the water indicator on your own crops rather than carrying a beta watering schedule into the demo.
- Should I use Hydroponics Stations for demo carrots?
- Use Garden Beds for the demo planting routine. Hydroponics Stations and Community Farming are planned Early Access farming features beyond the October 2026 demo. They are separate from getting Hazel's Carrot Seeds into the soil and growing your tutorial harvest.
