How to Unlock the Glider
To unlock the Glider in Loftia, start Permission to Glide with Cliff, finish Milo’s gathering and refining tasks, help Ryder, then return to Cliff for the recipe during Certified Flying Loftian. Once you craft it, jump and press Spacebar again while airborne to deploy it, then steer with your normal movement inputs.
Get Ready for Cliff’s Quest
Keep your Hammer available and make sure you can return to the Project Station on your island. The questline takes you through gathering raw materials, building a Refining Station and processing materials before you receive the Glider recipe. Permission to Glide begins that preparation; Certified Flying Loftian is the later quest where Cliff teaches you to make the Glider.
Start Permission to Glide With Cliff
- Speak to Cliff in Loftia City to begin Permission to Glide. Look for him in the lower-left part of the map’s inner circle; he sends you to Milo to prepare a working Glider.
- Speak to Milo and tell him Cliff sent you. Milo gives you a gathering task that leads to the Refining Station, so complete his request before looking for the final Glider recipe.
Gather Materials and Build the Refining Station
- Gather five Metal Scraps by destroying Washing Machines in the Scrap Quarter. These satisfy the metal portion of Milo’s raw-material request.
- Gather five Scrap Wood at the Construction Site. Keep these for Milo’s gathering objective and the refining work that follows.
- Gather five Plant Fiber in The Hills. This completes the plant-material portion of the request and supplies material for your refining task.
- Gather five Tires at the Solar Farm. Check that Milo’s gathering objective is satisfied before making the trip back to him.
- Return to Milo after gathering the requested materials. He moves you on to crafting a Refining Station on your island.
Place the Refining Station on your island through decorating mode. With the station placed, you can interact with it to process raw materials.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
- Process the gathered materials into Metal Plate, Plank, Straw and Rubber at the Refining Station. Finish the processing objective before returning to Milo.
Help Ryder Before Returning to Cliff
- Return to Milo once the refining work is finished. He sends you to help Ryder, whose task must be completed before you get the Glider blueprint from Cliff.
- Speak to Ryder at the Adventure Dock in Loftia City. He asks you to find three Scrambled Coordinates as part of his task.
- Collect three Scrambled Coordinates in the Scrap Quarter by looting Screws and destroying Washing Machines. Follow Ryder’s objective until you have the required coordinates.
- Return to Ryder with the coordinates. This brings you to his Adventure, which is the remaining task before you can collect the Glider blueprint.
- Complete Ryder’s Adventure. After helping him, your next stop is Cliff to begin the Glider crafting task.
Learn the Recipe and Craft the Glider
- Speak to Cliff again after helping Ryder. During Certified Flying Loftian, you learn the Glider recipe and can move on to the final material collection and craft.
- Gather five Glass Cullets by destroying Microwaves at the Solar Farm. Keep these for the Glider alongside three Rubber and three Straw made at your Refining Station.
- Craft the Glider at your Level 1 Project Station using three Rubber, three Straw, five Glass Cullets and five energy. With Cliff’s recipe learned and these requirements met, you can make your Glider.
The standard Battery holds five energy charges, matching the energy required for the Glider. Recharge before the final craft so you have enough energy when your materials are ready.
Launch and Steer the Glider
- Jump, then press Spacebar again while airborne to deploy the Glider on keyboard. You can also activate it while falling by pressing your jump button.
- Use your normal movement inputs to steer while gliding. Practise a short flight to get comfortable with deployment and direction before attempting a gap.
Follow Cliff Toward Hanging Gardens
The opening route connects Cliff’s Dome and Airtram Station quests and points you toward Hanging Gardens. The closed-beta journey continued into that district, but the October 2026 demo blocks entry. Early Access is set to add the Propeller upgrade, which lets the Glider fly higher.
