Before You Buy Sugar
If you're still working through the opening quests, focus on Hazel's The First Sprout before shopping for Sugar. Sugar is a purchased cooking ingredient in the demo, so this route takes you to Kun's shop rather than a crop you grow yourself.
To use your purchase for Fruit Smoothies, have a Level 1 Cooking Station, Wild Berries and available energy ready. Check your berry supply before buying a batch so you can put the Sugar straight to use.

- Buy Sugar from Kun's Recipe Shop in Global Village for 5 Dew per unit. Buy enough for the smoothies you intend to make.
- Return to your Level 1 Cooking Station with Wild Berries. Make a Fruit Smoothie using 2 Wild Berries, 1 Sugar and 2 energy.
- Sell the finished Fruit Smoothie through the shipping bin on your plot for 20 Dew if you're cooking for income.

Fruit Smoothies give you a use for gathered berries while your crops grow, and making them also levels Cooking. That makes the recipe useful when you want to earn Dew between farming tasks.
Budget for both ingredients and energy when deciding how much Sugar to buy. A small batch is a sensible starting point if you're still balancing cooking with other activities.
