When you can enter Gridfall
You cannot enter Gridfall in Loftia's October Steam Next Fest demo; the district is planned for Early Access on November 3, 2026. The demo covers Loftia City and ends before the Hanging Gardens, while Gridfall was accessible in the older closed beta.
District access in each build
| Option | District access |
|---|---|
| Steam Next Fest demo | Loftia City is playable. The demo stops before the Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall is outside its travel boundary. |
| Closed beta | Older beta exploration included Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall. Gridfall routes from that build are closed-beta references. |
| Planned Early Access | Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens, and Gridfall are planned for Early Access. Launch is scheduled for November 3, 2026, at 1 pm EST. |
Salvaging resources is already part of the demo. Gridfall is the dedicated salvaging district being added for Early Access, so you can try salvaging before you can visit it. Finding scrap around Loftia City does not mean you have entered Gridfall.
Prepare for district travel in Loftia City
Use the demo to work through Loftia City's opening progression. Cliff's glider questline gives you a glider and points you toward the Hanging Gardens. Completing it still leaves Gridfall outside the demo's playable area.
- Open Loftia on Steam to find the separate demo download.
- Follow Pebble's opening quests to unlock your plot, tools, and neighborhood.
- Complete Cliff's glider questline to receive your glider and reach the story's direction toward the Hanging Gardens.
Gridfall's salvaging, skyscrapers, and tunnels
Gridfall is a salvaging district built from scraps on the remains of the old world. Its planned Early Access attractions include air rails, towering skyscrapers, a museum, and secret underground tunnels. That gives you places to explore above the streets as well as beneath them.
Rail boots are planned to let you ride the rails around Gridfall and reach new areas. The skyscrapers provide climbing opportunities alongside that rail travel. If rooftops are what drew you to the district, those are the movement features to look forward to in Early Access.
The museum offers stories from the past, and the underground tunnels are places to explore with friends. Early Access also adds Urbex exploration through ancient tunnels and abandoned buildings in search of Artifacts. Those relics connect to the mysteries of Old Earth, giving exploration a purpose beyond collecting salvage.
Keep closed-beta Gridfall routes separate
Any Gridfall route from the closed beta belongs to that older build. For a demo player, it serves as a preview of the district's salvaging and vertical exploration. Following its travel directions cannot bypass the demo boundary.
Gridfall's archived datapad collection lists 10 entries. Those are closed-beta exploration references, separate from the collectibles you can pursue in the demo. Keep a beta collection route for that build and approach Gridfall's planned Early Access version as a later visit.
