Break Old Microwaves and Salvaging Crates
Gather Glass Cullets by breaking Old Microwaves and Salvaging Crates with your Hammer in Loftia City. For a named starting location, head to the Solar Farm and salvage the microwaves there.
Glass Cullets are crushed shards of recycled glass used in crafting. Keep them for the Glider and Small Solar Panel, and check which project you want to finish before spending your supply.
Glass Cullets Sources and Yields
| Salvage Object | Glass Cullets Received | Where to Look |
|---|---|---|
| Old Microwave | 1 or 2 Glass Cullets | The Solar Farm in Loftia City |
| Salvaging Crate | 3 or 4 Glass Cullets | Salvaging Crates around Loftia City |
Salvaging Crates give more Glass Cullets per object than Old Microwaves, so they are worth collecting when you find them. The Solar Farm remains a useful destination when you want to head straight toward a named source. Look specifically for microwaves rather than treating every discarded machine as a glass source.
Get Your Hammer Before Gathering Glass
Follow A Fresh Start until you have your Hammer. This is the tool used to break down the salvage objects that provide Glass Cullets. If you are still gathering loose starter materials, finish the Hammer task before making a dedicated glass run.
Gather Glass for Your Next Craft
- Equip your Hammer and head to the Solar Farm in Loftia City. Look for Old Microwaves and break them down to collect Glass Cullets.
- Salvage any Salvaging Crates you encounter in the city as well. They provide another source of Glass Cullets, so you can gather from both object types during the same outing.
- Check your Glass Cullets supply against your intended recipe before returning home. The Glider needs 5, and the Small Solar Panel also needs 5; collect the other ingredients for your chosen project too.
- Return to your island and use the Project Station once you have the materials and the recipe unlocked. For the Glider, finish the quest preparation with Cliff rather than expecting the recipe to be available immediately.

Check the salvage debris on your own island, too. Watch the demo walkthrough collect Glass Cullets there during the early farming tutorial.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Glider and Small Solar Panel Requirements
| Item | Use | Materials and Prerequisites |
|---|---|---|
| Glider | Lets you glide while jumping or falling. | 5 Glass Cullets, 3 Rubber and 3 Straw. Craft at a Level 1 Project Station after learning the recipe during Certified Flying Loftian. |
| Small Solar Panel | Provides solar power for recharging your battery. | 5 Glass Cullets, 5 Metal Scraps and 5 Scrap Wire. Craft at a Level 1 Project Station. |
Unlock the Glider Recipe With Cliff
- Talk to Cliff in Loftia City, then visit Milo and tell him Cliff sent you. Complete Milo's gathering tasks and build the Refining Station on your island.
- Process the requested materials and return to Milo. Continue to Ryder at the Adventure Dock and complete his Adventure before returning to Cliff for the Glider blueprint.
- During Certified Flying Loftian, use the unlocked Glider recipe at your Project Station. Bring your Glass Cullets along with the Rubber and Straw listed in the crafting table.
Check Your Allowance Before Adding Solar Power
Before spending Glass Cullets on an extra Small Solar Panel, check your energy-station allowance. You start with room for 1 energy station, and the first permit upgrade allows 2 for 125 Dew. Amani sells these permits in Loftia City, so visit her if your existing stations already fill your allowance.
Keep Your Demo Route in Loftia City
The demo includes resource salvaging in Loftia City and ends before the Hanging Gardens. The Hanging Gardens and Gridfall are listed as Early Access additions, so keep your demo glass run within the city.
