Unlock the Recipe, Then Build at Home

Unlock the garden-bed recipe through Amani during The First Sprout, then craft the bed at your Project Station and place it on your personal home island within your permit allowance. A 2x2 Garden Bed needs 5 Clay, 10 Scrap Wood and 3 energy at a Level 1 Project Station.

Amani's Garden-Bed Permit Allowances

Amani's garden-bed permits increase the total number of beds you may place. The allowance is a placement cap, so crafting another bed does not increase it by itself. Check the next permit's cost before spending the Dew you have saved for expanding your farm.

PermitTotal Bed Allowance and Upgrade Cost
Starting allowance1 bed; free
First upgrade2 beds; 25 Dew
Second upgrade3 beds; 500 Dew
Third upgrade4 beds; 5,000 Dew
Fourth upgrade6 beds; 15,000 Dew

When the Recipe or Placement Is Blocked

A locked recipe can mean you have not reached Amani's instruction in The First Sprout. Continue that quest to the recipe lesson before gathering another batch of materials. Having enough Clay and Scrap Wood does not replace the recipe unlock.

If placement is blocked by the garden-bed limit, check your permit allowance with Amani. You start with permission to place just 1 bed, even if there is open ground around it. Buy the next garden-bed permit before expanding beyond your current allowance.

Demo Placement Rules and Closed-Beta Differences

Keep garden-bed placement on your personal home island. The October 22 patch removed publicly plantable Garden Beds from Loftia City. For your farm, follow your own island's recipe and permit progression.

Closed-beta guides show different garden-bed permit prices and allowances from the demo progression above. Use the demo allowances when deciding how many additional beds to craft. Early Access is scheduled for November 3, 2026, with Hydroponics Stations and Community Farms planned as additional farming features.
